Mason Coalition For Drug & Alcohol Free Youth

Now Empty Seats

Are your kids "Too Smart To Start"? That is the question being posed to kids and parents in the Mason area. The Mason Coalition For Drug & Alcohol Free Youth is encouraging parents and kids to talk about the dangers of under age alcohol use.

The Mason Coalition For Drug & Alcohol Free Youth is a community coalition composed of school and business leaders, parents, youth and local government officials. The mission of this coalition is to address under age drug and alcohol use by our community's youth. The motto adopted by the coalition is "NO EMPTY SEATS", sending a message to young people in the community to make good choices so there are no empty seats at school or in the community.

The Mason Coalition recently received a grant to implement an under age alcohol use prevention initiative titled "Too Smart To Start", beginning in October. Parents are a major influence on youth alcohol use and related behaviors. The goal of this initiative is to arm parents with the information to help their kids be "Too Smart To Start".
